my belly bubbles beyond the beat
inside me a universe expands and tries in vain to hold my joy
I feel love coming to life in our likeness

out in the coolness the dancing is different:
the tiny worlds between your shining nosering and my pink cheeks
for an instant I know our blinklong lives
our mortal smiling spilling fondness on the streetside.

we stumble home and onto our cloud
you rub my feet, I kiss your hair
we sleep like gods, dreaming our histories to come,
parts of the same whole heaven.

and today like the water my legs are still waving
the temples of my temple floating light on their backs
I am not yet ready to wash our sweat away.

I soak in the salt of our celebration
savour our prayers to our selves.
